Content classifications
OFFICIAL
Information published directly by a game publisher, developer or another authoritative first-party source.
NEWS
Reported developments supported by attributable sources and presented with relevant context.
ANALYSIS
Original interpretation based on known material, clearly separated from confirmed facts.
RUMOR
Unconfirmed information whose limitations and source context must be made prominent.
OPINION
A clearly identified viewpoint rather than a neutral news report.
GUIDE
Practical information intended to help readers, checked against the game or reliable documentation where possible.
Sourcing and verification
Material claims should be checked against the strongest available source. First-party announcements, official websites, regulatory filings and direct statements are preferred when relevant. Secondary reporting should be attributed, and anonymous or unverified claims must not be presented as confirmed.
Headlines and updates
Headlines should accurately reflect the article and must not turn speculation into fact. Material updates should be incorporated transparently. Publication and updated dates should be shown when applicable.
Corrections
Substantive factual errors should be corrected promptly and, when the change materially affects the article, acknowledged in an editor’s note or update notice. Readers may report a possible correction to contact@patchcrest.com with the article URL, the statement at issue and a supporting source.
Original work and attribution
PatchCrest should add reporting, explanation, criticism or analysis of its own. Quotes, reporting, images and ideas originating elsewhere must be attributed appropriately. Content should not be copied or lightly rewritten from another publication.
Commercial independence
Sponsored or affiliate-supported material must be clearly identified. Commercial relationships should not be concealed or presented as ordinary independent coverage. Relevant conflicts should be disclosed to readers.
