The full release is here, not another Early Access milestone
Keen Games has released Enshrouded 1.0 on October 15, 2026, bringing its survival action RPG out of Early Access. Steam lists the full PC release for today, and the US PlayStation Store lists the PS5 edition as available with the same release date.
The immediate question for an established group is not simply what has been added. It is whether everyone can enter the same world. The answer depends on platform: Keen says cross-platform multiplayer is absent at launch.
Keep your PC world; rebuild your skill allocation
Keen’s launch FAQ says existing PC Early Access owners receive 1.0 without purchasing the game again. Their old saves can be used and will be converted to a revised save format. The studio encourages starting over to experience changes to the opening hours and world, but that recommendation is not a mandatory wipe.
Save compatibility does not mean every setting stays untouched. The release notes warn that loading an existing save for the first time in 1.0 resets the skill tree: players need to allocate their points again. Custom input bindings also return to their defaults, so review controls before heading into a difficult encounter.
These statements cover returning Early Access saves. They should not be read as a promise that a PC world transfers to PS5; the reviewed launch FAQ does not establish cross-save support.
PC and PS5 have different group limits
| Edition | Listed co-op limit | Important condition |
|---|---|---|
| PC on Steam | Up to 16 players | No cross-platform play at launch |
| PS5, US store | Up to 8 online players | PlayStation Plus required for online play; solo play is also listed |
A completed map and new tools for builders
The 1.0 notes open the full world map, including the northern Cinder’s Cradle region, and bring the current story to a conclusion. The player level ceiling rises to 50, with upgraded equipment reaching 55. Sparkworks adds logic tools for player-built interactions, puzzles, traps and encounters.
