What changed on October 19?

ZeniMax Online Studios announced on October 19, 2026 that the Greymoor Chapter and Wolfhunter dungeon DLC have moved into The Elder Scrolls Online’s base game. Players with access to ESO can use this content without buying those releases separately. The announcement says the additions are available now, ahead of Season Two.

This changes the content included with the game. It does not announce that ESO itself has become permanently free to acquire, and the game’s normal account, internet and console requirements still apply.

Greymoor adds exploration, relic hunting and a trial

Greymoor content named in the October 19 announcement
Included contentWhat it opens
Western Skyrim and the Greymoor storyAccess to the Chapter’s zone and storyline, including exploration beneath Skyrim in Blackreach.
AntiquitiesThe system for locating and excavating relics and other treasures.
Kyne’s AegisA 12-player trial: inclusion in the base game does not turn it into a solo activity.

To start the story, open Collections, choose Stories and find Greymoor under Chapters to acquire its opening quest. For Antiquities, the announcement directs players to Verita Numida in Solitude. These are different starting points: opening the zone and beginning relic hunting are not the same task.

Wolfhunter is available for groups before the solo versions

Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices are the two Wolfhunter dungeons now included. Their current versions are four-player PvE challenges, accessible through Dungeon Finder. The access change removes a separate content purchase; it does not change the announced group size.

Solo versions of both dungeons are scheduled to arrive with Season Two: Echoes of Skyrim on October 21. The official season page describes those versions as redesigned and rebalanced for solo play. They should not be confused with simply entering the existing group versions alone.

Base-game access still has platform requirements

Bethesda Support lists a copy of the game, an internet connection and a valid game account as the requirements for PC/Mac. Its console guidance additionally requires an active Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus membership. ESO Plus, the game’s optional membership, is distinct from those platform subscriptions; it is not a new requirement attached to these base-game additions.

The Greymoor announcement covers all ESO players and gives no separate platform rollout for this access change. Check that you can access the base game on the platform you use; free access to these additions does not replace that requirement.
