Six platforms, with two dated launch notices

Tales of Eternia Remastered is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. Bandai Namco confirmed the multiplatform release in its October 16, 2026 launch announcement.

The October 15 update notice says Steam is already available and lists 9 p.m. PDT that day for consoles—October 16 in UTC. Different page dates do not establish a second launch or every regional storefront’s exact unlock time.

What changes in the remaster

Bandai Namco describes an enhanced return of the action RPG known in North America as Tales of Destiny II. The story follows Reid Hershel and his companions as they try to prevent a disaster threatening the intertwined worlds of Inferia and Celestia.

The launch announcement lists Graphics and SFX modes for switching between remastered and original visuals and sound effects. Convenience options include adjustable experience gains and encounter frequency, destination icons, faster Auto-mode battles, Battle Retry and Quick Recovery. Extreme difficulty is available immediately; Unknown unlocks after finishing the game.

Check version 2.0.0 and the language restriction

Bandai Namco recommends updating before playing and identifies version 2.0.0 on all six platforms. It adds Titles to repeat-playthrough carryover, fixes some text and introduces a font-style option. Installing the update requires internet access.

Font selection is limited to Japanese-language play, and some text is excluded. The carryover statement concerns later playthroughs; it does not promise cross-platform saves or imports from an older release.

The approximate Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam download figures include the main game. Treating them as patch-only additions would overstate the notice. Check the platform-specific instructions before calculating how much storage you need.

Check the edition before buying twice

The official product page separates the Standard base game from a Deluxe edition with a Battle BGM Pack, digital artbook and soundtrack, and Super Growth Support Item Set. It also lists a Deluxe Upgrade Pack and warns against buying overlapping editions.

The digital artbook and soundtrack are separate from the game itself. Check your regional storefront for the edition, local price and download conditions; the publisher’s six-platform announcement is not proof of identical pricing or every physical retailer’s stock.
