A song you perform can reach Link’s ocarina

Nintendo’s October 14 overview of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time confirms microphone interaction for the Switch 2 remake. Hum a melody Link has already learned, or play it on a real instrument, and the system can make his in-game ocarina respond.

That is a specific interaction, not a claim that the game recognizes arbitrary music. The announcement ties it to learned melodies. It does not spell out recognition tolerances, noisy-room performance or how the feature behaves across every play mode.

Rematches sit alongside a broader rebuild

Nintendo also describes the Hall of Fallen Heroes: a place to examine statues of defeated monsters, learn about them and enter rematch battles. Its overview confirms voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue, overhauled visuals and symphonic orchestral music.

The product page separately lists jumping, dashing and modern camera movement. Taken together, these are changes to control, presentation and revisiting encounters—not merely a resolution increase. They do not, by themselves, establish a revised difficulty balance or prove that every encounter has been redesigned.

Keep the game, companion service and amiibo dates separate

The US Nintendo product page retains November 5, 2026 as the release date and lists the game exclusively for Switch 2. Its estimated download size is 27 GB; Nintendo cautions that preorder information may not be final.

ZELDA NOTES is a separate service within the Nintendo Switch App on compatible smart devices. Nintendo describes daily accomplishments, location challenges and a smart-device ocarina. The service requires a Nintendo Account and persistent internet access.

New Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo are planned for 2027, not the game’s November launch. Nintendo says they unlock masks with a retro graphical style, while existing Zelda-series amiibo supply in-game extras. The figures are sold separately.

What still needs a hands-on answer

The clearest buying distinction is hardware: this rebuilt version is not listed for the original Switch. Do not confuse its new interactions with the features of another edition carrying the same title.
