The October 22 launch covers consoles and PC
CONFIRMED BY SQUARE ENIX: Final Fantasy Resonance launched October 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store on Windows. Nintendo’s US store lists it among new releases, while live Xbox and PlayStation product pages corroborate current console availability.
Square Enix describes Resonance as the first HD-2D entry in the Final Fantasy series. It rebuilds the first story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius as a console-scale role-playing game rather than presenting the mobile release as a direct port.
US price and edition differences
| Edition | US price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $49.99 | Base game |
| Digital Deluxe | $59.99 | Base game plus the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack |
| Collector’s Edition | $209.99 | Physical standard game, deluxe upgrade and four-item collector’s goods box |
These are Square Enix’s announced US suggested prices. Regional taxes, currency, stock and platform storefront terms can differ. The collector’s package is a separate physical purchase with delivery conditions; it should not be treated as equivalent to an instant digital download.
Nintendo also lists a $14.99 Digital Deluxe Upgrade for Switch 2. The upgrade requires the base game and is tied to the matching platform version, so check the product page before combining editions or downloadable content.
The demo save transfers into the full game
CONFIRMED BY SQUARE ENIX: The free demo covers the opening through the first chapter, which the publisher estimates at approximately three to five hours. Save data from the demo can carry into the full game.
The demo is listed for PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Xbox on PC. Transfer normally depends on using a compatible full-game version and the same platform account or local environment; do not assume that a save moves between unrelated platforms.
Switch and Switch 2 buyers must choose carefully
Nintendo publishes separate Switch and Switch 2 versions. The Switch 2 product page says the dedicated Switch 2 release cannot run on the original Switch, and save data cannot move between the Switch and Switch 2 editions in either direction.
- Nintendo estimates 8.8 GB for the Switch version and 11.9 GB for the dedicated Switch 2 version.
- Both are single-player releases; Nintendo Switch Online is associated with Save Data Cloud rather than online multiplayer.
- Nintendo says the early-purchase item offer runs through November 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT; the bonus is not part of the core game specification.
What remains unverified
NOT ANNOUNCED: Square Enix’s launch materials do not establish a universal post-launch patch schedule or guarantee feature parity beyond the published platform descriptions. PatchCrest has not independently tested the final builds, deluxe items, save-transfer edge cases or collector’s delivery timing.
Store unlocks and regional prices may appear at different times. If a storefront still shows preorder wording, check its local release status rather than using another region’s listing as proof of access.
